So still waiting to go pick it up. Talking to the guy I found out its already got the creeper gear and headlights. But he said it ran when he parked it last winter and now it cranks over but slow. Waiting to find out if fresh gas and a boost starts it. Said he'd give it a try tomorrow. I'll probably still take it, but kind of a blow. The add said it turned over fine, I guess I took it the wrong way. When he brings it Saturday ill do a compression test, check for spark, and make sure its getting fuel. Anything else to look at?

So, I'm getting it tomorrow. Trading straight up car dolly for tractor, mower deck and snow blower. Sight unseen. Don't start, which is making me second guess it, but its got most of what I want on it. Rear fenders, creeper, headlights, wheel weights...
So I guess when I get it, make sure she's got spark, fuel, air and compression. If I can give the engine that, she should fire up. Be ready for more pics to come. |

So I got the tractor last night, boy am I glad I traded the car dolly and not my 30 carbine. The motor is pretty rusty, the starter will just click, gas is pretty nasty, choke is sticking on the carb and has some sludge oozing out of it, the shifter don't want to go in 2nd or 3rd..... But besides the motor, its pretty rust free... I may end up parting this out, not sure yet.
I'm pretty worried about the shifted not going into all gears. |

That's not a bad looking 100 at all. I hope you can fix it up.

I'm hoping too. I'm assuming when you shift to second and third that the shifter travels as far as shifting into reverse and first? It kind of feels like its clicking in gear, but the shifter barely travels

with out it running it may not feel like it is shifting right, thats the way my 102 is, looks like a good tractor that just needs some TLC. I think you got a good deal.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
