Mower deck 1811 spindle
My 50” deck on my 1811 has no Id plate. Need a spindle. The deck is original to the machine. I see 359 50c in other posts mentioned. Is that the stock deck? Help me with the stock deck model number and spindle number if possible. Can they be rebuilt and is there a video of the process for removing the bearings and seals? Thanks

Welcome to OCC!
I would guess that you have a 50C deck. You can find diagrams and part numbers in the tech section or on partstree, or Cub cadet parts lookup at top of page here

First, welcome to OCC......
There were three generations of the 50" mower deck. There were models 50, 50A, and 50C. Since you have a 1811, I am going to assume that you have a 50C. With that in mind, there are two options as far as the Spindle(s). You can replace just the bearing, part number ST-745. You can also replace the entire Spindle Assembly, 959-3367 Center Spindle Assembly, and 959-3293 Outer Spindle Assembly. Those spindle assemblies come with the Drive Pulleys. You can get 759-3479P Spindle Assembly with out the pulleys. Attached is a image of the ST-745 Spindle. The ST-745 bearing is good for all three spindles.

Not here. Maybe on youtube. Im not a big fan of videos. I look at the diagram and see how it works if I don't know already. The 50C deck is pretty basic and not difficult to work on. Look at the diagram and if you have even basic mechanical knowledge I think you will get it.

The spindles in my 50C and 44C mower decks that I have on my 1811 and 1812 have replacement bearings and cones that I have replaced on both decks. New complete spindles are pricey but I was able to rebuild each spindle for less than $30 per spindle. I used A2 bearing set from Oreilly's auto parts $5 per set. My spindles used 2 bearing sets per spindle. I used National seal 471737, also from Oreilly's, $8. I needed 2 seals for each spindle. It is a pretty simple and straightforward rebuild just remember to put the bearing spacer in before installing the last cone. Also put one of the seals in upside down to allow grease to expel when filling.

Yes it looks the same. I’m breaking mine down today to verify if in need the entire spindle or just the bearings. Will reply but can you send me a private message with price for the spindles you have? See you are in Illinois. I’m in 60047 zip area. Buying one or both may be simpler

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
