Rusty 59m

I got this very rusty 59m from a friend on Sunday for $25, despite all the rust the metal is solid and everything turns free. The mule drive needs straightening but that should be easy enough, the real challenge will be getting all the rusty bolts and pins out without doing more damage. The hammers are all there and look like they've never been used, it came with two different sized screens.

Great price and will look brand new I'm sure. You going to coat it or paint?

It will get paint, with the amount of work it needs it will just be easier to get it smooth with putty and primer.

You aren't kidding, that thing is rusty! After some TLC, I'm sure it'll be a great attachment. That's great it came with 2 screens. That's the later model seeing how as it has the half-lid on top and the idler pulley for the belt. My earlier model doesn't have either of those. The unit sits on springs, which hold tension on the belt.

Based on the color of the base, I'd say you found the green painted Makissic version.

That thing must have been sitting outside for 40 years!

Those are cool, I'd like to have one too, it's ridiculous that I'm jealous of a rusty piece of metal. This yellow fever is hard to get rid of

maybe but it will be yellow when its done. i've been dealing with this guy for about 8yrs and he's had it the whole time but i never knew it, he recently started to clean up and organize and was planning to send it off to the scrapper, luckily i spotted it before it got hauled off. its been sitting under a tree with other cub parts piled on top of it the whole time he's had it.
