982 blower
Hello all, picked up these blowers today, the white one has a tag that says it’s a 450 blower, the yellow one I’m not sure but could likely be a 451.
I have read that the 451’s have a lower gear ratio in the gear box, is that in the front gear box or the back? Also can someone help me with the proper belt, I have a nos bracket kit for the supers to make the 450 mount. |

The only difference between the 450 and 451 is the ratio of the drive gearbox. The auger drive gearbox is just a worm gear drive. They are the same.
You can look up the rest yourself. Cubcadet.com, go to "parts and service". Put in the model number and look it up. If you can't find the blower, use whatever tractor you want to put it on. Choose "attachments" from the list. The 450 should come up. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
