Default 48" mower opinions

Found a 48" mower for sale that I have questions about, in relation to a QA mower of the same size. It looks like it's a pin on deck- how difficult is it to convert it to a QA? Is the front cast piece the same between the two? Do the deck hangers interchange somewhat easily? Also, I see it's missing the belt shields (no problem, I have parts on a QA mower) can those be bolted up without making new holes in either the deck or the shields? It looks like it hasn't been used too much as the baffles are still in tact on the underside. I've never seen a guard like what's on the discharge side. Are there plates added to the frontside of the deck? Not sure what those are. Having not seen it in person I'm searching some opinions and knowledge before making a trip and being disappointed in buying something wrong.

Thanks

Daniel,
you will need a qa mounted up front, then hang the mule drive on it that is shown in your pics, or find the bolt on mule drive the type that is on a 122 and mount it that way.
Look in the cpe2 manual for mower decks it will help you out.

Hmmm...so it isn't as easy as unbolting the pin on mount brackets and triangular cast piece (from the mower pictured) and bolting on said brackets and cast piece from a QA mower?- granted I have the subframe/mule drive for a QA mower already. Sorry I looked at the manual you stated, but trying to get clarification.

If you take the center section out with the pickle fork on it and transfer it over to your other mule drive it should work that way I know the cast iron piece will not work because it's shaped differently .

Thanks. This is a bit more involved than I’d like to put in it so I’m probably going to pass on it. I appreciate the info master Lew.

Wait— do the pin on pieces on the cast triangle piece unbolt? Could I bolt up the hangars from the qa piece? (Or is the geometry still off- is the pin on subframe a different width than a qa subframe?

In the cpe link I added shows what you need to mount that deck on page 11 and page 14 shows you the parts for the deck you are looking to buy.

Sorry if I'm being a pain in the *** and I was just trying to ask as many questions as I could to help understand it better before I regretted making a decision. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

No problem!
Sometimes this deck stuff reads like setting up old Hi Fi equipment.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
