2182 is a gas engine, at least the 2 I own run on gas. Maybe I'm putting the wrong stuff into the tank.

As of late, they sell for as much as someone is willing to pay. Which in my opinion can be as much as twice what they are worth. |

They are kinda all over the place. I've missed a few under $500 that needed work but I would say a good running machine would be $1k to $2k depending on what it is and more if it's a super with all the goodies.

Hmm, deceptively similar in appearance That's a fine looking pair of Cubs in your pic, seems like I've seen that pic somewhere before lol Cubs seem to sell high around here. Here is the pic with a black spot on the hood near the muffler which led me to believe it was a diesel.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
