Thanks a lot. I'm going to Tractor Supply soon, to get that cheaper fluid. If you break those valves loose to help drain the fluid can you take them out and clean them. Should I replace the O rings?

If you are removing them, no need to clean them internally. By all means, keep them clean when out, and clean them externally. Before removal, blow out the areas around them with compressed air. No need to replace the o-rings, as they are specific to these units, but are available online.

Thanks for all the great help. I bought a new carb and fuel pump and filter. I'm removing the fuel tank so I drain and clean. I'm going to remove my 60 in Haban so I can sharpen the blades and paint it. This is my first time. I now have a garage so I can slide it out. Do you pull it out from the left side? How many connections do I have to deal with. I have a swing set frame and a chain fall. Do you think that would pick up?

Go to a local Case/IH dealer and get the right stuff. There's a reason it's more money. It's 100% zinc free, and can hold up to 1% of it's volume in moisture, which is advantageous with a system that does not get warm enough to burn the moisture out of the oil during normal operation.

I paid $28 with tax inc. a gallon of it two weeks ago.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
