Well I can't read schematics but it won't cause any liability if you tell me my guess 2 posts above is wrong. You don't have to tell me its right.

Well it looks like the contacts on the seat switch are closed until you sit on the seat and then they open.

If it's in your way pull the trans release on the back of the hitch and push or pull it.

I know nothing about a 2166, but my 2180 seat switch is closed until I sit on it. Frankly, it is opposite the logic I expected, but that is what I found. To bypass it, all I need to do is unplug it. No jumper needed. |

Do you think the seat switch and starting issue are related? Just a thought.

No I don't think so. I'm 99.999% sure the seat switch is not involved.

Thanks! I was puzzling over the 6th terminal on my ignition which is not part of the harness plug and it appears to be for the headlights

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
