Default New from Ny

Hi

I am from New York and I have a Cub Cadet 1650 which I have actually just pulled the engine out to replace the ISO mounts. I just bought it at the start of the mowing season and I think I paid a little too much for it. It came with a snow plow and mowing deck all for $900. Since I bought it I found out that the frame was broke, the ISO mounts are shot and the V/R went bad, all within 3 months. It has been a good mower so far. As soon as I can, I will get some pics posted.

D_Ordway:

First, welcome to our Forum......

I can't speak for everyone, but I can image that a lot of us got the "I want it bad factor" cloud our judgment and pay too much for a Cub Cadet. I know, that happened with me and my 1450. But, after I got all the things fixed, it is one of my favorite Cubs. Use it all the time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
