Default Acquired 2 CC's

Hello all,

Up untill this past friday i've never owned or knew much about Cub Cadets, but somehow I ended up buying 2 this weekend without really planning on buying one!

So I currently have a 122 that is running and appears to be in decent shape.
I also have a 127 that is in worse shape and is currently not running, I got it off a guy that had it sitting in his yard for the past ~3 years and hasn't touched it.

Im not really sure what my goal is with this mowers, but for now I want to get all the quirks worked out of both of them and then i'll decide if I want to keep 1 or both of them!

Jason

I hope you know you'll end up keeping both and adding some more to your fleet. Once you start looking for parts you'l find more. And don't forget the atachemnts! I've already started my wish list and haven't even started on my 122 yet.

Thats what my stepdad keeps telling me! He has a 20HP cub cadet, not sure what model but he has a plow and wheel weights which I would like to get.

I also have an old dynamark tractor in the garage and I definitely don't need 3 tractors!!

Is there any resource that tells you good/bad things about each CC model??
My 122 is in better shape than the 127 but the 127 has a hydrostatic trans which I prefer, so we'll see what happens!

First! Next, your comment about definitely not needing 3 tractors is of no importance. You just got 2 CC's without the need and found this site, you are hooked.... no way out! Just for an example, I have 4 tractors, 3 are cub cadets, and I don't even cut my own grass Enjoy your cubs and post some pics!

4 tractors and you don't mow your lawn, O boy...hahah...Im a jeep guy and hang out on a jeepforum quite a bit, i thought they were loyal to their brand but I think CC might give them a run for their money!

Welcome, you will find the 122 to be a great little tractor.. There are lots of guys pulling successfully with 122's for some reason......I love mine. It is currently set up to push dirt with a unknown snow blade I picked up...a set of ag tires and some wheel weights and it will do serious work.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
