Default Questions about H42 snow thrower.

I just bought an H42 snow thrower and mounted it on my 782. I man handled it up and slid it into place. I didn’t latch anything or pin anything, but I can’t figure out how to get it back off. I’ve pulled and pulled, but it won’t come off. Everything seems to be lined up and working fine, but I don’t know how I will get it off next spring. Any ideas???? Also, I’m not sure where one of the parts goes. I’ve included a couple of pictures of the mystery part. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

If you pushed the thrower into the brackets it "latched" and to remove it, you need to unlatch it with the bar in front, just on the back side of the frame front cross member,
this will allow it to slide back off.
It is the same latch lever that takes the mule drive off.
And welcome to OCC!!

Looks like a homemade lift attachment for manual lift tractors (582/682)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
