Red face I didn't mean to...am I now addicted?

Dad gave me the 149 that has been in our family for almost 30 years. It had replaced a 100 upon which I learned to shift. He had replaced it with a 2000-series (yuck) and now, after his passing in July '08, I am suddenly finding myself buying parts from 3 local shops and ebay, and recently bought a 129 from a cousin for the fresh 14 HP Kohler in it. I swapped those engines out in an unheated shop last week when it was 16 degrees, in order to be ready to plow the white stuff. Paid big $ for some Amsoil to help cold starts, etc. etc.

I can no longer park any vehicles in my garage.

I dreamed about plowing snow last night.

My wife is starting to give me 'the look' again.

....How did this happen?

I am taking a step back and taking the kids to Disney for a few days. Will that help break the obsession? Or will I be seeking out CC dealers in Orlando?

You'll get used to your wife's looks, or you'll just have to come up with better excuses. :biggrin2.gif:

That's the life of a gearhead.

Just ask her, "You rather I was at the bar, or in the garage when money gets spent?"

My wife actually enjoys me being home working in the garage...it's better than working at my last shop, an hour drive from home.

It's called "Yellow Fever" and there is no known cure. However, it sounds like you already know what the treatmens are.

There's no cure for Yellow Fever, but getting more cubs seems to help.

Now wait a minute. This might not be as bad as you're making it out to be. Define "the look".

What is sad is I am getting close to 60 and with 4 kids telling me where they have seen an used Cubby someplace the yellow fever only gets worse. Thanks Kids!!!

Now for the "look" I am lucky i still get the "good look" and boys you better be ready for that one. Because, if you are not, the bad look only gets worse.

One of my Cubs made it on our Christmas letter.

She no longer sighs when she sees MORE pictures of the Cubs on the camera.

I search Craigslist daily for more Cub stuff, though I have what I need.

Welcome to the assylum.

I totally agree with pretty much EVERYONE"S sentiments. You just have to learn to accept the fact that you have an illness of which there is no cure. Once you accept that you are GOLDEN!!
Oh yea, and the look....after 17 years of wedded bliss I don't even see the look anymore. Doesn't mean she's not giving it, I just don't see it!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
