But I thought of something I could add..... Quote:
I usually make long posts.... but Randy says "brevity is the sign of intelligence", so I will shorten this up. Nearly everything gets to a point where replacement is cheaper, or close to the same price as the repair. The 129 is far from it. The choice shouldn't be that hard unless the decision is based on the OP's ability to do the repairs himself. It would seem that he is unable to, or unwilling to commit to the that, so I think, after many, many emails with the OP, and his several threads, that he needs to just replace the tractor and be done. Not replacement with comparable, but replacement by intended use. Honestly, I think Keith would be very happy with a new XT1, and it would likely serve him well for several years. I am going to make the suggestion for a XT1 LT46" with the EFI engine and a fabricated deck. MSRP at Cub Cadet for $1999. Buy a blade to go with it, and I think it will last him a very long time. But he needs to visit a CCC dealer and buy it, not TSC or Lowes. Look this over Keith: https://www.cubcadet.com/equipment/c...8-lt46-efi-fab |

I suggested in one of his previous threads that he sell the Cub, hire a lawn service to mow the lawn and sit on the porch and drink beer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
