Default Added 1864 to fleet - New $12,600 in today's money

Been wanting a Cyclops with power steering and just got an 1864 from second owner. He had the paper work & maintenance records from the original owner. I used the internet to find what the original $6100 purchase price is in 2023 dollars. Can you believe $12,600?!!! Original purchase was 6-30-1994.

It runs and only needs a few things. The LH valve cover is a cracked and leaks oil. Looks like there is an updated design. The pulse hose for the fuel pump was baked & rotted. Practically fell apart. Don't know how it still pumped!

You sound excited. As you should be. Congrats. While I don't mind the manual
steering on my old cubs. I love the power steering on the cyclops.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
