Default Hydro lift for NF

Is anyone making a reproduction of the hydro lift that could be mounted to an early narrow frame. Tore up my right shoulder in the spring, so a great reason to pick up another Cub, a 73 with a snow blade to make winter a little more fun. But it sure would be easier for my shoulder with that HYD lift installed. Will it even work with a snow blade? Thanks.

I'm not aware of anybody making reproductions (but that doesn't prove nobody is). I've seen some nicely done adaptations of power steering units and hydraulic pumps from other applications that were added to Cub Cadets, if you are handy at fabrication.

I too wanted a hydraulic lift for my narrow frame, and I spent about 5 years looking for a good one. I finally found a complete unit, with the modified lift arms, at a Red Power Roundup in '19. After working out the kinks of a 50+ years old piece of equipment, it is now working and lifting my snowplow very nicely. Along the way I looked at a lot of rough and incomplete units that were for sale. I mostly looked at the flea markets at IH themed shows, you may have faster success online.

Good hunting!

Back 10 or 15 years ago there used to be several of them on Ebay at the same time. I have purchased several off of there and have had 4 or 5 of them over the years. When they first hit Ebay 300.00 for a complete setup was the going price but that did rise to around 500.00 then started back down again. I haven't looked in years since I got rid of all my narrow frames but I would keep an eye out there. I have never had a bad one either regardless of how long they have been laying around. I was able to get a new pulley from CC years ago but I'm sure they are NLA. Yes, they will run your front blade as well as the rear lift as long as you have all the parts.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
