44" mower deck idler bearing
The center belt on my 44" mower deck was squealing so I removed the cover to see what the problem was. One problem i identified was that the idler pulley bearing is worn out. Does this bearing press put of the pulley or do i have to buy the assembly? Does anyone know the part number?

You will need 756-3005 Pulley, Flat Idler.

Others on here and so have I, drill out the spot welds and split it. Then you can replace the bearing and use short 1/4 x 20 bolts to re-assemble it. This bearing was a 6203RS and was cheap off of Ebay.

Mark the pulley halves, makes it easier to get back together, holes line up perfectly.

Most of the ones I've seen have a pilot hole in each side.

I got the deck apart.
I bought a 6203 bearing and I can see it's too big. The pulley is marked F64BI on the backside. The bearing inner race has a spacer that is proud of the bearing about 1/2". Does anyone know if there is a direct replacement bearing or should i make a spacer. |

Make a spacer. I had some that you pressed in but used them all up.

Thanks. It looks like a 6202 bearing from the measurements. Is that correct?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
