Default White paint code for 102

Hello, Ive got a 102 I'm restoring. I didnt find a tag hanging vertically on the rear end, but I did find a horizontal tag at the back of the rear end, under the 3-point pickup. It says 158132. So.... I used that as my serial # and got paint code 901 mixed up. They used PPG 8665 as a cross reference. It is WAY too green/olive. That serial number points to a year 1966 model 102. And the paint chart in the forum says White 901. So did I use the wrong tag number? Where else can I find the correct serial number? And PLEASE tell me what is the correct paint. The original paint was a bright white, but it was repainted. But also, every picture Ive ever seen of a 102 is bright white. And Im also willing to accept my paint supplier mixed wrong too. I'll try to get a decent picture tomorrow.
Thanks
James C

First, welcome to OCC.......

The correct shade of white for your 102 is IH-901. That formula is NLA from Cub Cadet. See link: Paint Chart

Thanks for the welcome. Does anyone have any pictures of their 901 paint jobs?

FWIW,
Your 102 was built in June of 1966

Thanks, fins.
So the tag I found makes sense for the serial number of a 102. And the 901 paint ended the same time the 102 ended. My paint supplier definitely mixed the paint wrong.
Heres another shot

The original color did have a slight greenish tint. If you don't like it, paint it whatever you want.

Hard to tell, but the color and paint job looks really good!
To be fair, you really need to bring the parts you painted out to daylight and pair it with the yellow of the tractor and not the bright white background.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
