Awesome find Steve!! You can't have too many so don't even think about quitting!.. When I rebuild my Haban I found some HD idlers hanging in the rack at my local Case IH dealer that weren't expensive.. guess I shoulda wrote down the number! Or as others have said.. just grind the rivets and bolt it back together!

Nice find... looks clean.. and you got a muffler plug!!??

So I have been putsing around with this tractor. The PTO clutch engages but squeels when shut off. I have the info on how to set air gap. Hoping that will help. I blew the radiator out and found this piece of plastic schtuff at bottom of radiator underneath the instrument panel. This tractor is the 3rd and last parts break. This piece looks largely intact. Anyone have a picture of this thing in place? I believe I understand how it goes. Just looking to see what another one looks like in place.

Never having had that model, I'm going to guess that it goes below the radiator core to insure that air moves thru the core and not underneath the radiator.

The rubber fits over a lip on the mount for the steering. The notch goes around one of the hydraulic lines.

Thanks for the pic Sam. The one on this tractor is bent in a couple different directions. I'll see what I can do with it.

The center spindle on this tractor's Haban 325 had noisy bearings. PO said center spindle and double pulley replaced last year. I tore the spindle out of the bearing cup. Replaced the bearings. Put it all back together. The dang thing would not take grease! The center bolt with grease fitting took grease fine. Tore it all back appart. The spindle does not have the grease hole out the center of the shaft. Never drilled it! Shaft was from Cub Cadet. You can see the grease hole in the center of the right shaft below the key way. No such hole on the shaft to the left. All these little things add up to a royal pain in the arse!!

Is the top of the deck flat? Both of mine had to be beat flat and a reinforcement plate below. Then I shimmed the spindle housing plate to line up the blades perfectly.
I’m just curious cause on both of my decks, the outside spindles were tipped in.(top of spindle leaning to center)
I’m no expert but all the 325s I’ve seen were this way. Centerspindle is fine of course cause it already had the reinforcement plate.
Sorry to bore you with deck talk but I really like the big Habans.

Terry, I had hoped this deck was in better shape but indeed the outer bearing cup areas are twisted. Center to outside tips were off as much as a 1/2 inch. However, a trip local steel shop and part of a day down at the family farm shop later. Voila! New plates. Six to be exact. Now I have extra plates for some of the other decks I have. I finally had a chance to use the plasma cutter. Very sweet!!! I decided to copy the original middle plate and make it a bolt in instead of welding it it. I picked up 3/16 steel. The steel house sheered the squares for me. I only trimmed one corner of the squares to fit the slope/taper/angle of the deck tunnel. On the fence about turning them into complete hexagon or not. Might just add some extra bolt holes to the outer corners. Have not beat flat and drilled the deck top yet.

Here are some pictures of what I have so far. So.e pictures I laid my plate. ersion on top of the deck to show it clears surface mounted items. Should work. Just not sure on final out shape yet. Might leave it aline and put extra bolts in the three outter corners. Will certainly cause grass to hang up underneath though....

I did use some of these on my CCC Haban 401 blade....

The grass shouldn't hang too much if you put the carriage bolts in from the bottom if possible.
-------Or, put in countersunk flat head allens from the bottom, a little more work but a smooth surface.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
