Default Snow plow to Dirt Scoop/Loader Bucket Conversion

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone had a chance at trying to turn a plow into a loader bucket similar to a johnny bucket attachment. I've searched the forums but can't seem to find anything similar.

Thanks!

I just figured out what I'm doing with that old rusty wide frame plow out back.

That's exactly what I'm thinking of, how well does it work for moving dirt?

I don't know Russ, it's just some picture off the innernet.

Looks like a mulch bucket to me.

Next time I come across a cheap dirt plow I'm going to try and tackle it. Shoveling and wheelbarrowing is getting quite old.

John Deere makes a similar item. item LP45000 you can see it in their lawn and garden brochure. Several videos on you tube that show the assembly and use. Wonder if the kit will fit my CC push blade??

Iā€™m not sure a Cub is strong enough to lift a blade with a load of dirt on it. The JD blades have a good sized lift cylinder (3ā€+- bore) right on the blade.

Saw this JD setup a few years ago at a swap meet. Pretty sure it was homemade.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
