Default Bolt sizes

Looking for the following bolt sizes on a quietline:

Tunnel cover
Muffler box (the small ones)
Baffle (engine tins)

I'll add more in the future as I find missing bolts.

Click on the link above, that says "Cub Cadet Parts & Service Lookup". It will give you all the parts information you need.

As Bill said, any well equipped Hardware or Fastener will have them too.

What bolts should I replace in the tractor or change to a different style? I'm probably going to buy new motor mount bolts (cradle and oil pan) as mine are probably stripped and warped from the engine buckin like a bronco.

I think for questions like this it would be best to check all other resources first. You have the tractor right? Go out, pick up some tools and size up the nuts and bolts at any hardware store. I personally go to Tractor Supply for my hardware. Easy to find and you can buy them individually. If you can’t do that, use the link above, or use Parts Tree, or you might get lucky and find some valuable info in the service manual. You will learn much faster by doing this, trust me. I was a young enthusiast just like you not many years ago and actually doing the work (not being spoon fed answers) really goes a long way.

Don’t get me wrong, most if not all of the folks here are willing to help and are VERY knowledgeable. If you get stuck using all your other resources first, then ask here. These guys are great at answering challenging questions.

I think the tunnel cover is held on by #12 (probably 24 pitch). Don't quote me on that. It is a RARELY used bolt. For that reason, when folks lose them they tend to shove whatever sheet metal screw/wood screw they had in their that they could make tighten down. I would think that the parts book would tell you exactly, or if you click on a part, you should get a more exact description.

Last few I got had some sheet metal zippy's "self tappers" in there. Not correct but they screwed up the threads lol. Pun intended

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
