daved5150,
Thanks! Looking forward to your pictures too.
Beware the dreaded "Lake effect"! Get that snow thrower ready, and give us some photos when you get it set up.
Regards,
Chris

Sorry 72-149, couldn't resist myself...I was just being a wise guy, y'know? I'm originally from "LA." I moved out to Colden just over 4 and a half years ago. I knew you were a local when you referred to it as LA. By the way...just saw your 149 on the Custom Cubs section. Very sweet bro. I like the over sized front tires with the 4 lug wheels. I want to do that to my 1250. PM sent.

Sugarmaker...thanks bro. I fear no lake effect as I've lived here my whole life. This will be the first year that I'm not plowing with my 96 F350. It has some issues and I still have to fix it so my 1250 will be the main go to for winter this year. No more 20 + hour shifts sitting behind the wheel pushing snow as I used to plow my church lot by myself. I'll be sledding this year...still have to get them going as well. Yea, I know the seasons almost here. I work midnights...it's tough. I got the chains on her now. I'm waiting for my helper (my 13 yo son to get better) to help me put the thrower on. Pics coming soon...

Southtowns27, what's up bro? With that Cummins avatar, one would assume you have something that has a big "C" oil burner in it.

Thanks, Mike! Yeah I got my avatar from a local company that sells tee shirts but I can't remember the site though. I like it. Nice "cyclops" tractor you got there for your avatar. What model is it? And very nice FEL too. You fab it up?

I'm sure you push a lot of snow being close to Lake Ontario there. Good to hear from you...appreciate the welcome.

Default Pics of my 1250

I finally got my snow thrower dilemma figured out as I am a noob when it comes to the QA42A. Here are some pictures as promised.....

She's got 23x10.50/12 rears that are brand new and filled with Rim Guard with a single set of IH wheel weights. On the rear end is a xtrememotorworks 1/4" hitch plate that I got because I bent the stock one trying to pull a stuck lawn tractor out of the mud...overkill. She's in pretty good shape but needs some work which I'll explain later. I have to work tonight so it's off to take a nap soon. See you guys later.

Thanks Al. Wasn't much of a workout though...only about 4 inches of light snow. It hasn't been much of a winter here in Western New York. I gave up plowing this year...wrong year to do it. But last year killed me. Very rough winter. I wanted to snowmobile this year but haven't yet. I think the trails were open 2 or 3 days the most, maybe 4.

Getting back to my 1250, I want to pull the engine and check the bottom mounts as she shakes pretty good. The flex coupling in the drive line looks warped a little. I also want to do the motor cradle/rail mod - welding in a cross support. If I pull the motor, I might as well check the head; freshen it up with cylinder hone/fresh rings; maybe bore it, etc. etc. etc... Well see. I have to finish rebuilding the 44" mower deck. I have to get out the center pulley and spindle, the other two are out. I want to buy new spindles and I think I need one new pulley. I also want to buy the steering upgrade kit with the 605 thrust bearing. I want a bunch of stuff from David Kirk like the Point Saver and Bosch Blue coil as well as about every single product he sells. But a lot will remain on the wish list.

I have to remount the IH emblem on the front but I think I'm going to buy the diamond plate headlight plate from xtrememotorworks. It is awesome! I'll post it here. I have to fix the outlet coming off the muffler in front as it was a home made piece when I bought it. It fell off the last time I used the mower and I ran it over while cutting the grass. I'd like to put a stack on it. I'm just thinking out loud at this point. Thanks for looking.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
