Getting rain and wind from Michael now. May be rough in the afternoon/evening.

We have some serious flooding in our area. I have never had the water in my pond over top the dam until yesterday and it looks like it may do it again today. Out flow pipe is 10" and the pipe under the driveway is 24" The 24' pipe couldn't handle the flow and the water almost went over the top of the driveway.

Hope the dam doesn't erode and break. Fortunately the pond at the house has a "spillway" that is a few inches lower than the dam. We have a 4" line in it but in periods of heavy rain it can gently go over the top. It was built so horses and cows could just walk right in the pond, kind of like a swimming/wading pool.

John

I think I'll do something for a spillway after this.

Nope the house is up on the hill above the pond. This is looking at the pond from the front deck.

I think Sam ate enough government cheese living in the cut. Seems to me he will make an outlaw spillway.

We were very lucky with Michael. We got wind and rain, but it wasn't too bad, thankfully!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
