Default Engine swap from KT17 Or Mxx to CHxx (Conversion)

Hey all,
I was going to make this swap on my 2072. Reading around it is said to be almost a bolt in with the right donor. Not having the correct donor (3206) I have hit some snags. I would like to gather the parts list and sources needed to make the swap for myself and for future projects. And is there a chance I will need to modify the air cleaner? Please review and add onto my list.
Ready to order parts and really only wan to do it one time. Snow is near and I need this machine :-)
Thanks guys

Conversion to CH18 CH20 or CH22
From Sponsors
Motor plate 1864, 2084 or 2284
Muffler from 1864, 2084 or 2284
Drive shaft from a 2084 or 2284.
*KT swap requires additional wiring changes
Baffling required?
e-pto clutch (in my case the donor is a e-vac system)

From SamMac
Pump adapter for the CV style drive shaft. (needs shaft size and ds length?)

Seems like you are cutting it short from a time frame. What is it that you need to know? Your list looks like you have it covered.

Yeah, this fall has been a disaster for projects. Kinda for life in general. So I figure to get my hydraulics figured out and the engine swap will happen this spring. Will start on the parts list. One question. Is the rear DS adapter something you make or a factory part? I will be sourcing from you, just curious.
Thanks and happy New Year

Drive shaft adapter I have made is pretty much a copy of the NLA factory Cub part. A couple minor changes but if you can find a good factory adapter it will do the same thing.

Default I'm confused?

Does your 2072 have a kt17? Should have a Mag20. If so, the wiring shouldn't be hard for a CH as both are magneto ignition . I put a CH18 in my 782 with Sam's 2000 series drive shaft conversion. I just drilled 4 holes in my engine mount plate. I think all necessary links are in the thread. Give it a read and feel free to ask any questions.

Shrewcub -- Sorry for the confusion. Searches I found many did it, but info seemed dispersed. I was attempting to wrap up the info in a common post. Noted both machines I have and conversions found for that reason. My 2072 does have a M-20. I will find and read your thread.

SamMac - I would like to get one of your conversions. Maybe just the pump end? Will PM you about details.

Great info on the conversion in the link. I see no trouble making this one myself. Want to give thanks to SamMac for documenting so well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
