Talking New 1650

Picked a new 1650 on Sunday. We had to drive nine hours round trip on my one day off to pick it up, but I think it was worth it. It was running rough when I got it, but with some research on the forum I was able to get the points gap correct, and the plug gap correct. I also added a new condenser, and it now runs like a top. Couldn't be happier with it.

Congrats on the 1650! It's nice when a little tinkering gets it running smooth.

Thanks for all the comments. It does have a rear lift and it came with a 50 inch deck and mule drive. He had a 42 inch hydraulic snow blade, but I thought he wanted to much. I have a qa36a snow thrower and 42 inch snow plow that will work on it. I have been thinking about converting the blade that I have over to hydraulic, but I haven't done enough research to see how feasible that would be.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
