Best thing for ya to do is go to the tech section here and download the manuals.
Once you find all the parts you want you can search online IE amazon, ebay etc. Or you can find parts from the sponsors at top of page.

For the carb, belts, points etc.. Its worth it to buy new

My friend has one complete with deck, supposed to run. $200 might buy it. He took it in on trade. Ohio, not exactly driving distance. Mike

Don't limit your search or request for parts to just the specific model number (i.e. 104).
Many, many parts from all the other gear drive narrow frames (i.e. 70,71,72,73,100,102,104,106,122,124,126) will interchange with your 104.
Along with the model, you should look up the part numbers of the things you need and search for that part number also.

Thank you starting to learn a lot of parts are the same. Thank you for the lead on the brake clutch pedal I purchased one from the links you gave me. I still have to find a steering box or the shaft I had to cut. I also still have to find PTO parts lever and linkages. Belts deck parts and blades console and tower. I have been trying to just start with a list of known parts I need. I've been searching with the part numbers or what the item is called. I have definitely been shopping around prices vary greatly. I enjoy hunting for deals so that's half the fun.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
