I know that many things in California are more expensive than they are in mid state Illinois, but $285.00 to bore a K series Kohler is stupid high (and you can tell this guy that I said so).

Should be able to have all the machine work done for $175.00 (that's everything, Bore, valves and seats and crank ground).

Hunt up a different shop and see if you can get a better price.

Keep in mind that rebuilding this engine, will make it like brand new and it will run for many, many years.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
