Default Power Steering Kit for 1811 (196-422-100)

I have a 1811 that my father in law purchased at an auction for me. It came with what looks like a complete power steering kit in a box. Any idea what this is worth? Is it hard to install? I haven't found much information on it online.

Thanks.

EDIT- Sounds like this is rare, may not work well, and may even have been recalled by Cub Cadet. I have found reference to a Service Bulletin CC-086 that was tied to this kit. If anyone has used a tractor with this kit, I would appreciate your opinions. If it doesn't work, that may explain why it was never installed.

The 1811 was not offered with power steering. No idea what you have, but it wasn't for that machine.

I have no answers until pics.

I am familiar with that kit, but did not know that it was offered on anything other than the '82 series tractors.

What is it worth? According to most people that have had it, not worth it's weight in scrap. There is a member on here that goes by Spudder. He had one on a 782 and it didn't work well at all. It uses a shuttle valve to control the hydraulic pressure and it didn't center well, respond well, or drive very straight.

How hard is it to install? Well.... looks like you have the instructions.

I am fairly certain I will install it. I would like power steering, but I don't need it. If it is valuable, I may consider selling it (or keeping it for use on a 1812 at a later date).

If it doesn't work well, then I may have to reconsider installing it. I'll try to pm Spudder.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
