Amortized over a 25 yr period it's not a bad price. You've kept it in really nice condition.

They sure didn't give them away then did they? :-)

Wish my dumpster Cyclops looked that nice. Congratulations, taking care of quality equipment pays off.

Thanks again guys, yea they weren't real cheap when they were new. Since I only use mine for mowing it's not too hard to maintain.

BUT......No more complements please.

Seems the 1864 copped an attitude and now wants to retire. Wouldn't start when it was hot, one more time like this and it's off to the scrap metal pile!

I started a separate topic on the issue.

It's been so dry here, I wasn't sure if I would hit the 1000 hr mark this season.

Finally had to mow so 1000 hrs was met. Lots of rain lately so I think I will be mowing every other day now.

Default Right on the money

1000 hours is a good amount of seat time. Hope you aged as well as that Cub did :-)

Don't I wish I aged as well. Luckily the 1864 is ready to go at the turn of the key. Me....it takes a little longer.

I purchased it used so it had some hours on it but don't know how many. I had a small Model 80 so between them both I'm sure I have 1000 hours of seat time.

That's a lot of time mowing, soon ready to hire someone.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
