Default Cub Cadet 1772 For Sale

This 1772 has been in my family since 1989. I have been restoring it back to better than new since 2018. I'm moving and need to sell it before August 30th. I have all of the original parts that came with it from the factory. I mowed the yard with it today, the neighbors are always jealous... I'm going to miss it, It's my baby... Asking $2750.00 Firm

Update!! It Sold!!

I'll probably get deleted but that's a really nice looking machine.

It went to a good home, the guy was from Pennsylvania, living in Florida. He is going to show it at tractor events, and his wife is going to use it to mow their 3 acres. Just for reference, it went for $1900.00

Good buy for the new owner, I would have been well ahead with your machine vs. my 1572.

Where did you get the aluminum radiator? Was it a direct fit?

The 1772 radiator is unobtainable. I went through almost 300 radiators looking for a match. The radiator that I used was for a Kubota L175-L1801. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166012959031 It has 1-3/16 inlet and outlets. I used silicone turbo adapters and these hoses https://www.ebay.com/itm/125433815801 for the top and bottom. These hoses are also a hack for replacement of the top hose. You cut one of the ends off and it's a perfect fit for the 1772 1572 etc. I cut the front engine cradle back and set the radiator in after making custom brackets out of 1/8" steel. The holes it the1772 front cover match the pre-drilled and nut-serted holes in the radiator. The nut-serted holes are 6mm x 1.25. I took the thermostat out and put in a 1-3/8 1/4" thick stainless washer that had a 7/16 hole in it, to slow down the flow. Fan wise, I used a SPAL Universal 9" - 590 CFM Electric Pusher Fan - 30100381. The tractor would run at 150 degrees on a 100 degree day.

That's some really useful information. Too bad we can't move it to a sticky in the service section somewhere.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
