Default New to the community/ need some help

Hey everyone,
I am having an oil leak from the front of the motor/ behind pto on my 782 with 17 hp series one Kohler motor. I can't seem to find the part number for the seal and was wondering if any of you guys knew.

Also just to introduce myself. My name is Blake and the equipment I have is a 782 with mower deck, 582, and 1450 with mower deck. Also have a snow blower and blade. Pretty excited to see everyone's equipment/ builds and learn some tips and tricks along the way.

Hi Blake, welcome to OCC.
Here's a thread with the same question. Maybe it'll guide you in your direction.

Thanks. Would you happen to know if there is a difference from a series one to a series two seal?

The seal is a tad smaller on the flywheel end on series 1.
The pto end is the same on all 3 engines, series 1,2,and magnums.
Be aware the front is the rear so be sure to specify pto or flywheel end.
you can go to partstree.com for ##/ references,
also download the free manual here on occ, if you haven't already in our tech section.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
