My Future Cub Hauler
Picked this up on Father's Day, 2018. Needs some work. Could have bitten off more than I can chew, but the body is remarkably solid, and the engine and trans are great in operation. I had been wanting an old truck, but tired of the GM and Ford stuff. These are rather rare, IMO. Also, during this era, its my personal belief Chrysler had been putting out some ass kicking products. So why not give the trucks a chance, right?
Its good to be back in the saddle again!

Looks like about a 1970 Dodge pickup. Sweet Looks like it is in outstanding shape. Slant 6 or a 318 or were you lucky enough for it to have a big block?

Yes would like to know more. Don’t see a lot of the second generation ones anymore. Is it a W or a D?

Thanks guys! Its a 71' W100, 318 with A727 Loadflite. Not a winter truck, I will point that out, lol. In 64'-65' Dodge ( same platform ) offered a D100 Swept Side, and for an extra $1,800.00 they offered a 426 Wedge putting out a whopping 365hp, and 470 lb. torque. This was a good 10 years or more before the Lil'Red Wagon. I was surprised to learn of this, and these numbers are in the ball park with some of today's Dodge trucks. But yes, 71' was the last year ( '61-71') for this body style/platform. The windshield seal leaks, so that's one reason for it being covered. I'll get more pictures up.

That paint package really pops the truck for sure. I have only seen two Swept side in person, mine and another that I can now recall being parked in the same spot since I was knee high to this day. My truck does have a complete trim package, but things like a grill insert, fuel tank, among a long list I am finding out to be quite an expense . This truck was in the years that I liked them the most. The guy also had a nice 71' Power Wagon which he wanted more money for. He claims you'll see 20 Fords and 20 GM before you see one Swept side, and I'm finding out he's quite right. After all, I got the truck so I can haul my Cub to a tractor event, lol!

Nice rig, does it have lock out hubs? Hard to find old dodge trucks that aren’t rusted out. Chrysler and ih is the only brand parked in my garage.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
