Hello from central PA
Figured I'd be on here a good bit seeing how I just got my first cub last weekend. Not sure of the year but it's a narrow frame. It's my grandfathers and I've been eyeing this up since I was old enough to remember. I drove it when I was about 8 plowing snow and that's about all it ever got used for. It's been sitting in the shed for the pass 20 years like some sorta barn find. So the journey starts to restore it back to new. Quick question, How does one post a picture?

Welcome to Only Cub Cadets!
That is an Original. It was made in either 1961, 1962, or 1963. Nice tractor!

Very Cool!
Love the "patina" on it. I would love to see what it looks like after a good bath and degreasing. I bet it will look like a different machine all together! BTW. I think I have a deck, subframe and mule for it.

well that's different.. my guess is one of the O guys will be by soon to figure this out. Maybe 2 different decal sets were offered at one point and some one added the wrong one to one side?

The only one I am use to seeing is the red blue. Could not find another color choice available unless it was from a different model.

Congrats on getting pap's tractor.
That is an original and isn't considered a narrow frame, the O was an animal all it's own. You should feel lucky, there are plenty of guys on the forum who wish they could find their grandfather's tractor. I have my pap's tractor and restored it last year, here's some inspiration for you. https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ad.php?t=47965

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
