nope tried that too, that was the first thing I tried was taping on the bowl and no luck then I unscrewed the bowl and fuel came out so I went ahead and pulled the bowl off and the float wasn't stuck so Im still stumped.

When I got the tractor the carb was nasty but I soaked it and a rebuild kit and it worked fine when I drove it after I put it back on just after I parked it it wouldn't start

tore the carb apart and found some crud still in it so it looks like some sea foam may be in order but I did get it to run just not that well. But it still needs new points and condenser

IMHO Getting a can of carb cleaner and letting it soak over night will clean it better then sea foam will. You'll need a carb rebuild kit but it would be well worth the effort. IMHO

I rebuilt my 10hp., & per instruction on the carb build & soaked EVERY part for about 1 hr.. Then when I inspected every single part & brushed it with a nylon brush it came out like new. That one long needle valve has 4 itsy bitsy holes that are sooooooo small that I can imagine can be the culprit? I used a gallon of parts cleaner bought from a local auto parts store. A bit pricey but GOOO stuff.

Like they said, rebuild it again, install a fuel filter and a cheap $3 plastic gas shut off valve. When you done running the engine, turn the fuel off and let it die from lack of fuel. You may have to spin the tank 180 deg. to fit the filter in.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
