New member from Northern Canada
Hello All,
While I have followed OCC for the past month or so, I have just signed up as a new member. After reading the various threads on numerous topics, I was extremely impressed with the knowledge and talent of many of the members and it convinced me to look hard at purchasing an international cub cadet, the newer equipment of just about every manufacturer Is extremely overpriced and poor quality. The older iron was produced before built in obsolescence was engineered into everything. I was lucky enough to pickup up a 1979 1650 that has the original snow thrower, front blade, mower deck, and rear tiller, along with a wagon, got to find or make some heavy wheel weights though. The old boy (well just a bit older than me) moved off his acreage and out of province, so wanted to part with it. All the attachments are on pallets, and I am positive I will be scratching my head a few times, trying to put the puzzles together and get them rotating correctly. So look for me on the boards regularly. Once I get everything home, I will post some pics. Cheers for now. Leodor

Welcome!
There is a lot of knowledge and supply advice here and they are very willing to help. When I had a tractor used for summer and winter duty, I found it was easiest to just get another set of rears. One set is turf tires. The other is lug tires, liquid filled(I used antifreeze because I had it but washer fluid can work too) and chains.

Thank you all for the welcome, and the tip on the manuals.
A lot of rubber tired equipment operators run water with calcium chloride in it for winter weight up here. I am pretty frugal and what ever is the lowest cost and works. The antifreeze trick could work well as there is a wrecking yard down the road and he recovers it out of every rad. Should be able to pick it up for nothing. Thanks again.
