Default New 127 Project with a Surprise!

This was advertised as non-running 127 with a 42” deck. Suspected broken rod but we will see if it is salvageable. It looks clean otherwise and The price was right so jumped on it. I was a bit surprised when he started telling me about the motor on the back. Score...rear lift, spring assist and a tiller gear drive and mount. It also has an electric lift but I don’t know if it works yet.

Should be fun to get running again...the motor will be a big question here.

Niiice!
I always try not to get my hopes up that it'll have goodies when I go snag a new cub.

Good luck on getting the engine sorted.

I'd say good for parts but the more I look at it I'd put $$ into the motor and keep it as is. Good power wash--- I like it!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
