Sunday roadtrip
Picked up this tractor today. Its a 1970 126 (kind code #0039).
Creeper and rear lift. It's not running yet, but pretty sure it has compression. I am new to the clutch and creeper things, but the shifter goes into four gears and the creeper goes into hi-lo. It needs a battery to start and gas. There are extra two springs for the clutch a small one and big one, and im not sure where those go for sure? In front of the release lever, maybe. Front wheels need tubes and steering wheel shaft need attention too. Some dirt to wash off too. It also came with a qa42a snowthrower thats in real nice shape. The 42 inch deck is really rusty. Heres some pictures: it sure looks better in my garage. 20181125_154132.jpg 20181125_205631.jpg 20181125_190130.jpg 20181125_190414.jpg 20181125_190345.jpg

It sure would, but none is forecasted in our area, it all went south and got hammered.
Looking forward to getting fire to it. The cutting edge is barely wore. But it came with 4 chains that all seem a little short. They might be for a walk behind.

Nice Haul!!! A 126, too....Look carefully, it also has a spring assist to it on the LHS you can see the bracket in back. How's that for an extra? Glad you scored it in such nice shape!

Thank you!
Absolutely, happy about the spring assist, going to need that for the 42 inch snow tool. The pto clutch button is gone and lever is missing a spring. How is it that these pto clutchs are so under-maintained?

Congrats on the 126!
Also congrats on missing the blizzard that hammered those folks between you and me (we did end up with about 4" snow, 10" drifts). |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
