Default Front oil seal

I have a Kohler K341 in need of a front ( flywheel side ) oil seal replacement and I was wondering if this can be done without removing the bearing plate, thanks.

Do you have the Kohler Service Manual? It lists the procedure along with the depth to which the seal should be driven.

Default Front oil seal

That is good news! It is only a temp fix, the plan in the near future is to have it rebuilt. I don’t have a service manual yet but before I start this project I will go online, download and print one out.
Growing up all my neighbors had Cub Cadets and I decided that one day I would pick one up and restore it! Well at 53, now is the time! I got a 1450 that was in pretty good shape but needed some TLC. Discovered it wasn’t the correct motor but aside from that it was a complete unit. As of now it’s in pieces, stripping most of the parts in preparation for epoxy primer and some fresh paint, and lots of new parts. It’s not going to be museum quality but it’s going to be nice, fingers crossed! I love the old stuff, it’s heavy duty and you can’t kill it unlike the junk that’s out there today.
Thanks for the help, I’m sure it won’t be my last.

Sounds like a fun project. You're gonna love the 1450, it's a great tractor.

Thanks everyone for the info. And the link for the Kohler manual was perfect! Hope I have enough ink in the printer!

No need to print it off, it isn't going anywhere. just print what you are working on as you go if needed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
