I'll probably get crucified here for admitting this but I picked up a 1200 recently that had no carb. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a carb for an engine I knew nothing about. Hello,check the knockoff carb against those in your bin. I've heard some knockoffs have different threads and will not take Kohler rebuild kits. (needles,jets,bowl nut) Mike

Finally got some time to work on the 73 this weekend!

Not sure I am going to modify anything like I thought I might, its really is pretty decent shape. If I do anything beyond stock, I think I will keep it to bolt on, so it can be restored some day.

Got it up on the bench to get a better look at it. Somebody was gonna make a puller out of it and cut the center out of the lift then welded the lift arms to the frame to hold it together!:bash2

We pulled a lift out of the attic from a 100 I had, then grabbed a three point lift arm that someone had put on a 149. They actually didn't do too bad a job making it work.

Dug a brinly hitch out of the shed that came with a plow I bought. It is a brinly but came from a Sears. Its black instead of white.

I would put up some pics but I can't seem to make things happen. When I click on manage extensions, nothing happens. Hmmm.

Well, I will try to get some up later.

I still need to pull the tranny back and fix the shifter from swiveling around, but thats an easy fix.

Gonna put the motor and complete driveshaft out of my old puller in the 73, and put new in it for next season.

Ok, trying a different way to post pics. Lets see if this works. I removed a PO mod of a large nut welded to the frame, pulled the motor and got the steering box tightened up and put back together. Can't tell any of that from this photo though.

The steering box I did the poor boy 605 bearing mod. I didn't want to pay $10 for a nice 605 bearing, so I used 2 grade 8 washers and polished two sides and lubed them and put them together along with the original washer. Should do the same thing, just a little cheaper.

I am also taking a broken front end from a 149 and gonna put the headlights from one to the other as soon and I get the holes cut out on my plate from the 73.
