Trade in's
After driving just shy of 1000 miles to deliver the 782DT to Greg, I felt it worth my while to at least bring something back home. After some friendly negotiation, I took in a couple of Cubs as trade in's. The first is a 1772, complete and running although it needs a little love due to a differential housing bolt issue. The other is most of a 1782, less the nose and the air cleaner. Greg was told it runs when he purchased it. It may end up being a basket case reassembly project, but my focus will be making the 1772 right and adding a 3 point. A fun trip and a total of 1902.4 miles round trip. It's always fun to meet another Cub collector and compare notes. Thanks Greg for a great time and selling me a new project! Here's a couple of pictures showing the load going out and the one coming home.

I hated to see the 1772 go but I never would been able to do what the Doctor will do. I cannot wait to see return to its better than new condition. It was good to see it start and pull itself onto the truck. It was a good time but man was it hot.

Good land Doc! I didn't know you would deliver! I'll remember that next time you put something up for sale!
Not that you can't handle it for sure, but if you get into overhauling any of those Kubota's and have a question, I've overhauled them before. Just holler. Looks like a lot of fun work! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
