Thanks for the info Mike.
Today I pulled out the tank and replaced the fuel lines, shutoff was plugged up solid,I was able to bleed up to the injector pump, but it will not start with the little battery that came with it. Cleaned up all the grounds and used new bolts. Where do the smokers club get the right battery?

Congrats Lew and welcome to the club. Hard to own just one diesel. Fair warning. Got my 1512 out last week after it's winter slumber and she fired right up. Adrian's right, any good battery will work. As long as you have the two ground cables with clean ends, glow plug update/relay, and gear reduction starter. Those mods make a world of difference. This should be your new grass killer. She'll sip fuel.

Nice machine Lew!! I like my diesel.. Compared to all my other cubs it burns almost no fuel. I think you will find that you like this one if you use it very much!!

Thanks for the info on the battery,I will see what I can find to fit in there, the one the PO had in it was too tall and hit the hood and sparks were flying,so he had a piece of carpet covering the terminals.
Checked out the drive line and all is good and tight, when I first looked at it,one mounting bolt was missing on the rear,I will look into that further. No one let me in on the secret handshake yet...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
