Union electrician...till they made me retire after my third open heart surgery at only 37. Man I loved that job. Early retirement don't pay much. But here I am trying to find things to tinker with.

Same thing I do for a hobby... I fix lawn and garden equipment.LOL

Was a metal fabricator for many, many, many years but Im semi retired now so I took a job doing maintenance for a landscape company, I service weed wackers and lawn mowers and bobcats and trailers and even their trucks... whatever they break, I fix.

I retired last year after 36+ years in education...28 as a middle school principal. Then, 2 weeks later, I received a call from a different school district that needed an elementary principal for one year. Now...I'm retired again. We"ll see how long that lasts....

Guess I'll bring this old thread back to life. I work at an automotive supplier. We stamp large panels like hoods, doors, fenders. We also do large assemblies such as engine cradles and cast aluminum components like shock towers and underbody rails. I review the requests from the customers and quote the work that it will take to make the parts.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
