The story of your first Cub

My family has always had Cub Cadets. Ther first one that I remember and learned to mow with was my dad's 125. My own first Cub was a 782 that I got for $0 - had to replace the engine on. I used this until I cam across a 2284 Super that I bought at an auction. This has been faithfull to me for the last 10 years. I was looking at buying a new tractor last summer but I cannot find anything out there that is as tough as the older Cubs so I bought a 1872 that I am in the final stages of rebuilding. Completely repainted and new decals, Installed a Kohler Command 23 and replace the seals in the transmission. Just waiting for summer to give the 60" Haban mower a try. Also looking for a plow to take care of some of the lighter snow - I still have the 2284 with a 451 snow blower for the heavy stuff.

My wife's uncle has a 1872 and he added a foot on each side of the blade to push snow with. He loves it! He has a weight box on the back with chains in it and that's all the weight he uses for it. He has no problems unless there is ice but everything is going to slip on ice. When he's done playing with it I get it so been holding out for 18 yrs now and still waiting! He's only 82 so I guess I'll let him keep playing!
