You can put a 48" on that tractor. You can get a 42, or a 38. They mount the same and use the same spindles. Not a big deal. Buy whatever you want.

Highlighted part is the key...been looking and haven't come across a single one. I'd have to keep limping along with mine (you mentioned that it looks pretty well shot) until (perhaps more like if) I come across one.

There are 3 different variations of the 42". I am sure there are different variations of the other decks as well. You do not need to find the exact model number you have to get one of the "say nine" different variations of decks. Meaning there are 7-9 different variations of decks that would be considered stock decks for your machine. If you had all 7-9 model numbers your search would yield more hits than just one model number.

You likely won't get any hits on the deck model number. You'll get far more looking for a Cub Cadet XX" triangle deck, or by searching for a deck to match tractor models. Those decks fit basically every tractor up to the 82 series. You can put them on the 82 series also if you set them up right. You could also install a 38A, 44A, or 50A on a 129.

I believe you stated you are on the eastern part of PA. A very simple craigslist search showed these. I stopped looking after I found 5 that are within 100 miles of Allentown. You should have no excuse getting one if you want one. Also, I really am jealous of you northern fellas. There is basically any cub in any condition listed on craigslist in PA. There are seriously about 3 old cubs posted in the entire state of Alabama...

Chad...thanks for researching that. Very much appreciated. I checked them out. The one from Scranton has no pictures - so I emailed the guy to see if he could send me some - and the others look to be in worse shape than mine. Still, your point is well taken about craigslist. I've never done any business on there but certainly worth keeping tabs on the way it seems.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
