Oh crap......I just ordered some PF Engineering backhoe plans. I sure wish Cad Plans designed one for the back of a Cub Cadet but I'm pretty sure there is a very good reason for that.

Oh ya, is it because I busted the crap out of my 1772 ramming concrete and flexing the hell out of the frame and cracking it or twisting off a steering knuckle?

Not too shaby filling up this dumpster + I had lots of fun tearing up the old slab.

I'm not sure that I will actually build the hoe but I'm going to look into what the material will cost.

Oak, I think your the person that made trip springs for on Dozer Blades for.

Really too bad, you didn't have a loader for your Kubota B, because then you could get a stump bucket for it. Which could be your most cost effective way to Trench, without spending an arm an a leg on a backhoe.

I wish I did purchase the FEL when I got my Kubota but I didn't. Now I can't find any of them for sale.

I did find a John Deere 46 backhoe attachment off of a Deere 2032R, 2520,2720 or a 4100 for $2500 but I'm not sure what it would take to fab up to my Kubota.

Looking at your pix, you have some ground to maintain.
Why not get something that will do the job adequately for many years.
I don't usually hear one say I have this piece of equipment I don't use often
and wished I never bought..
As we age we run out of time, as the life clock has only so many hours.

Since I put a loader on my old Farmall 400 prolly 35 years ago, and added a vintage back hoe to it maybe 25 years ago, I can imagine how I EVER got along without it.
Had I paid a million dollars for it, I still would not say it was not worth it.

We pay a lot of dollars for a new truck or car, and what it is is worth in 15 years? SCRAP iron!

A 4020 John Deere, new in the early '60's went for less that $10,000
60 years later, working continually, they bring more than that now.
Beats the shit out of our throwaway vehicles for sure.

Fly first class, if you don't, your kids/Heirs will!!

That said, don't abuse the garden tractor cubs, while well built, they were never made for loader/backhoe work even the little loaders/hoe attachments

--The power companies up date their compact "ditch witch" type equipment periodically, usually by an auction situation.
----Just my take for the day
Best of luck with your decision.

Up here in Illinois, if you don't buy a loader for a compact. The re-sale Value goes down immensely.
BTW here is a good aftermarket Loader for Your Kubota https://www.loaders.com/Front-End-Lo...eries-10-90-HP

Tow Behind Back Hoes Look up a Candig backhoe it's a tow behind But when it's off towing Vehicle it is self-propelled. I think it is a 3 or 4 wheeled set-up Here is one of there Larger Ones

You Just Made me Think of Going out and Buying a Deere 4000 with My Great Uncle I was about 6 at the time

Great Uncle In 1970 Bought a JD 4000 for $7,000 new . The 4000 could Plow More Ground Faster with a 4 row Plow then a 4020 could with a 5 row Plow I Love the Fact that the 4000 still sells at a Lower Price Used . Because everybody want's that 1,000lb heavier 4020 which sell at Crazy Prices today.
The 4000 was considered the economy tractor of it's day

I'd rent, what will take you months with a small one will only take a few weeks with a 580X.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
