Question Advice on engine rebuilders please.

After 3 years of pulling with a factory original k341 16hp in a 128( thats why i call it a 168 ), its time for a wake up. With many differant people/companies all claiming to know how to build an engine better, i was looking into brian miller with A1 performance, my question is how to choose who to use?

Go with guys who win trophy's. Brian Miller....... he's not one of those guys. More than likely he is the cheapest. Probably found him because he has a lot of stuff on the net and the guys who are just starting use him and spout his name on forums alot.

Don Vogt (dvogtvpe) on this site is my first recommendation.

Second would be Chuck Vogul. Vogul Manufacturing

Midwest Super Cub offers lots of parts I don't know if they will build you an engine, but Don can tell you.
Zach Kerber does as well. Looks like he may be offering an engine program now, or soon.

The other guys should be around here a little later, but that will give you a place to start. Just don't use Brian Miller. He is NOT anywhere in the league of good engine builders. He's way behind, about 15 years.

Anyone other than Brian Miller. If I were you due to your location I'd call Lakota Racing. All the options J-mech listed are good as well but Lakota is probably closer than anyone, which should help with shipping costs.

From what I read he got 55 years in prison so I'm not sure how he's building anybody's engine anyway.

A big THANK YOU for the info, the cost of shipping is a factor, but a bigger factor is the quality of workmanship and knowledge. Now i know miller is not the choice to have it done correctly the first time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
