Default 1710 worth it?

I have a lead on a 1710, he says it doesn't run, but it's rebuilt, and has no rear tires, 225$, I need to ask if it has any attachments. Is it worth it?

Edit: He also has an 86. I'll ask him about it.

Picture is worth 1000 words, especially when trying to determine value

I asked for pics, just waiting for a reply.

Edit: I'm mainly asking about the reliability of the engine, do the KT17 series II engines last?\

The tractor would be cool, being one year and all.

He says it has a 44c deck, but he's not good with computers and doesn't know how to post pics.

You don't have enough information yet then.. You need to go and see it. If its not running obviously there is no guaranty it will run. He says it was rebuilt but by who

Then you go look at it, if he cannot post pix's
The series II's are just as good as the magnums. many are still running.
Not the cheapest to rebuild, but you would not be doing that.
You say it "don't run" could be as simple as out of gas or "done blowed up"
as they say in NASCAR.
Not running lowers the price substantially.
I make it a practice to look at something first, then negotiate a price if interested.
Many people find it offensive if one comes at them with a reduced price and never looks at the item.
Other times I look @ an item and walk away, as I don't want it, at any price, including free

Well, at least I have a backup plan if it's pooped the bed.
K 321, to the rescue.

He says it turns over, and that it may run.

Edit: Turns over by hand.

2: I asked him if the key does anything, if not, would that suggest wiring issues? Maybe dead battery?

Every day you seem to be off on a new venture, one day it’s a 1250, next day your buying Tim’s 1282 now it’s a 1710 then you tell us you have no $$$$ till your brother sells a combine and your grandmother has a broken arm so you can’t go anywhere.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
