Sorry Jeff beer comes in bottles gas comes in ''cylinders'',

Yeah them baby's are a lot of money but now you own it so it wouldn't be so bad in the future to get a refill, those have 80 cubic feet in those ''cylinders'', lol.

I'll blame it on sticker shock from the empty price of my cylinder

Thanks.

I don't have real deep pockets so it took a lot of searching for good deals.

I've gotten a few great deals off ebay the past few months.

A Jacobs 8-1/2N ball bearing super chuck for $36 ( retails for around $250 )

Brown & Sharpe 12" vernier calipers for $26

and the best "steal" was this set of almost brand new 24" Starrett vernier calipers for $197.50 These retail for $1151

Those are good deals. How temperature dependent are the 24" calipers? My thought is 20 degrees from calibration temp could throw them off a tiny bit because of expansion/contraction.

I keep them at work and bring them home when needed. Work is usually 64* to 70* except in the summer when it gets a "warmer".

I guess if you're measuring similar materials the temp difference wouldn't matter much. I guess measuring 50* aluminum with 50* stainless calipers could lead to some errors.

I got a good deal on a Jacobs rubber collet chuck for my Monarch lathe

I've been looking for this set up for quite a while but they go for way too much money. I found this one on ebay for a good price and it included all the collets. It will work with 1/16 and the way thru 1-3/8" ( the only drawback on this type of collet is you can't hold short pieces )

I included a picture of another ebay auction with a decent price and mine was under half that

Here's the auction pic ( it won't allow me to upload a .png file )

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
