Put the roll (spirol) pins back in and call it good. Not worth the effort to remove. You can get new pins from mcmaster carr (mcmaster.com).

Picture
Can anyone out the with a 1650 send me a picture of the break return spring and the neutral start switch spring? I need to see what it looks like all hooked together. I'm missing those parts and the parts book isn't real clear on where they go. My 1650 has the internal brakes too if that helps.

I'm sure someone will post a pix or two,
but use a coat hanger or similar with a hook on one end and bend a "D" handle on the other end so you can insert it from the rear of the tractor and hook the spring on it and pull it rearward to where it attaches. Works a lot easier done that way on a 782 which is similar to yer 1650. |

The neutral safety switch (when brake pedal is depressed) is shown here. The orange arrow points to the spring lever which is pinned to the brake rockshaft at the blue arrow. The green arrow points to the bracket that holds the actual switch. which is hidden by the drive shaft in this photo. When the brake is pressed, the spring lever presses on the switch which closes the circuit allowing the engine to start. Also need the PTO switch to be in the "off" position at the same time. The two switches are wired in series.

Been a little while.
It’s been a little while. The weather here in Wyoming has been cold. I also have been laid up for a few days from nose surgery. I have an appointment with the sandblaster on the 4th. I’ve ordered new tires and had the old ones taken off. Hopefully in a few days I’ll have some pictures.
