Default Hello from central Ohio

Hello,
I have been lurking this site for a short time and drooling over all of your tractors. I recently purchased a zero turn mower because I am mowing my aging parents lawn. I had a cheap Cub Cadet I got from a big box store and it served me well for years. I sold it after getting the zero turn. Mistake! I miss it for pulling the roller, sprayer etc.. So I get this idea to get a old cub and fix it up, was looking for either a 105, 125 or a 72 model. Well it turns out a friend of my son late father had "some old tractors" and he was wanting to make some room.

We set up a time to go and look, wow this guy had some neat old tractors. I didn't see any cubs but a 1650, it was complete but not running. I wasn't interested in it, have my heart set on something older and smaller. He told me that he had a cub in the barn so I crawled back under a mountain of stuff and found a 105. No motor but he said he had it in the other barn. He showed it to me but it was a 12 hp so not the right motor. Then he said he had another cub out back.

To make this long story short I left with all 3 cubs, two motors, a 42 inch snow plow. And a promise he would call me and give me anything else that was a cub part. All of this for less than two hundred bucks.

I will have lots of questions! I hope to learn a lot from all of you.

Dan

Congrats on the Cub's!

FYI that 12hp will bolt right into that 105 which would make it a 125. Who doesn't need two more horse's?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
