Default Wide frame to narrow frame plow frame

So I picked up a plow but sadly it's for a wide frame (found that out when I got home). So i knocked out the pins of the wide frame and weled a bar across to attatch into the quick connect. How ever it seems the sub frame is too long and the bar wont go into the quick attatch.... have any of you retro fitted a wide frame sub frame to fit a narrow frame ??

You have two choices. (A) Modify the sub frame you got , or (B) Get the correct sub frame for your tractor.

I understand that I did modify it by putting the bar across it I dont understand why it's too long though for the bar to connect. Iv been screening the web for a local correct sub frame nothing yet.

It's too long because it's for a different style tractor and that's how they are made, you can either shorten the rear or find the correct frame. I don't think it would be difficult at all to shorten.

A lot of guys would love to have the WF subframe and would gladly trade a NF subframe for one. Why don't you try posting it in the For Sale section of the forum before it is all molested up and that way two enthusiasts will be happy. You could also advertise for a NF subframe on here. I just saw one at a recent swap meet.

I know a guy who has a pile of these blades, some NF and some WF and he is wanting to sell them. Whereabouts in Ohio are you?

His name is Scott and he is extremely knowledgeable about cubs, has a nice collection himself and is super nice to do business with:

Scott is a great guy to deal with. I purchase several IH Cub Cadets and parts from him.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
